Kids Summer Camp in Madrid with Swimming Pool, Sports and Chess

Welcome to our summer camp in Madrid for international families. Every summer we welcome children from Spain and from many other countries who spend part of their holidays in Madrid. Probably the most fun summer camp with swimming pool in this part of the galaxy!

Our camp takes place in Ciudad Universitaria, in the Moncloa district of Madrid. We use several university residence campuses with swimming pool, sports courts, green areas and large outdoor spaces.

Children enjoy a healthy combination of sports, swimming pool, chess, robotics, creative workshops and outdoor games. Therefore, the atmosphere is active, friendly and very international.

You can also find additional information about our main camp activities on our kids summer camp in Madrid page.

Summer Camp in Madrid with Swimming Pool Every Day

One of the favourite moments of the day is the swimming pool. Children usually enjoy pool time before lunch. In full-day schedules, they also go to the pool again in the afternoon.

The camp takes place in Ciudad Universitaria, one of the greenest and most open areas of Madrid. In addition, sports courts, grass areas and outdoor spaces allow children to spend most of the day outside instead of remaining indoors.

A lifeguard is present at all times, together with the camp monitors accompanying each group. Younger children use shallow areas where they can comfortably stand in the water.

The idea is clear: a fun summer day, outdoors, with pool, sports and friends.

Sports, Swimming pool, Chess, Robotics and Outdoor Activities

This is not only a chess camp. Children alternate many different activities throughout the day, depending on their age and interests.

Participants enjoy sports, football, basketball, swimming pool, robotics, chess, Rubik’s cubes, arts & crafts, comic workshops and outdoor games. As a result, everyone usually finds activities they genuinely enjoy.

Many families initially think this is only for advanced chess players. However, most children simply come to enjoy a varied summer camp experience in Madrid with sports, pool and friends.

Chess activities are adapted to every level, from complete beginners to tournament players.

In short, children play, move, learn and make friends.

Gifted Children Also Need Sports, Games and Movement

Many gifted children are highly curious and enjoy mental challenges. However, they also need movement, outdoor activities and real social interaction. In our experience, the ideal balance is not spending the whole day sitting in front of a board or a screen.

That is precisely why our summer camp combines chess, robotics and creative workshops with sports, swimming pool, outdoor games and group activities in Ciudad Universitaria, Madrid.

Some children enjoy the intellectual challenge of chess or robotics. Others simply love football, swimming pool time, table tennis or running around with friends. Most of them enjoy a healthy combination of everything: learning, playing, moving, thinking and making an effort in different ways throughout the day.

For many gifted children, this balance between mental stimulation, sports, games and social interaction is exactly what makes the camp work so well.

Moreover, the atmosphere is active, friendly and very outdoors-oriented. Children spend a large part of the day outside, alternating concentration, creativity, movement and free play in a natural way.

Flexible Schedule for Families Visiting Madrid

Bienvenido a nuestro campamento de verano en Moncloa, Ciudad Universitaria

Flexibility is one of the main advantages of our summer camp in Madrid.

Families can book individual days, full weeks or longer stays depending on their travel plans. Moreover, children do not need to arrive exactly at 9:00 AM. Arrival is flexible throughout the morning depending on the chosen schedule.

It is also possible to change some conditions from one day to another. For example, families may adjust arrival or departure times, lunch options or activities during the same week.

This flexibility is especially useful for international families spending only part of the summer in Madrid.

International Families and Languages

Activities are mainly conducted in Spanish. This is not a Spanish language course. Instead, children spend the day playing, learning and sharing activities with Spanish-speaking children.

Our first goal is simple: international children should feel included from the first day. After that, Spanish often comes naturally through games, sports, chess, robotics, pool time and everyday interaction.

Many monitors can communicate in English and other European languages when needed. Therefore, communication with international families is usually easy during the camp.

For many children, playing every day with other children is one of the best ways to learn another language. It feels natural, useful and fun.

Meals Prepared On Site — No External Catering

Meals are prepared every day in the residence’s own kitchen and served in the dining hall. This is not external catering.

The menu is the same one used by the university residence itself, its staff and our camp groups.

Families can request adapted meals for allergies, intolerances, vegetarian diets or halal food.

Breakfast is available for early arrivals. Lunch is available for children staying after 2:00 PM. In addition, afternoon snack is available for late departures.

Location: Ciudad Universitaria, Moncloa District

Our summer camp takes place in Ciudad Universitaria, in the Moncloa district of Madrid. We use several university residence campuses, including CMU Loyola and Colegio Mayor Isabel de España.

We are located in Moncloa, next to the districts of Tetuán and Chamberí. Moreover, we are also only about 10 minutes from Peñagrande metro station in Fuencarral.

The area is well connected by metro and public transport, especially through Vicente Aleixandre station.

For families staying in Madrid during the summer, this location is especially convenient. It combines large outdoor facilities with easy access from the city centre and nearby residential districts.

Why Families Return Every Summer

We have been organising summer activities in Madrid for more than fifteen years. Over time, many families return year after year. In fact, some former participants have later become camp monitors themselves.

Moreover, families especially value the flexibility, the close attention from the staff, the outdoor facilities and the swimming pool every day.

At the same time, children quickly make friends, spend most of the day outdoors and enjoy a healthy balance between sports, games, creativity, technology and social interaction.

CHESS FOR GIFTED CHILDREN

Through the game of chess, children can enhance their cognitive skills, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities. Many of our gifted students enjoy chess as a sport, game, and entertainment. Our camp offers expert guidance and interactive sessions to help young chess enthusiasts improve their skills and connect with peers who share their passion for the game.

IS IT A CHESS CAMP?

Of course not! It is a camp with chess, among other activities. It is a camp with many different activities, and everyone finds the moment they enjoy the most.

However, despite the wide range of activities offered, many families express concern, fearing that this camp focuses solely on chess. Nonetheless, their children may not know how to play chess. But this concern is unfounded! We want to reassure families that lack of chess skills is not an issue at all. In fact, we embrace diversity and skill levels, welcoming both beginners and advanced players alike. Furthermore, we are excited to share that our camp provides instruction for those just starting out, as well as those already competing in official tournaments. Additionally, we extend a warm invitation to federated players and those with rankings to join us for an enriching and inclusive experience.

ONLY FOR GIFTED CHILDREN?

This campus brings together many gifted students, but also many others. Obviously talented boys are all for chess, robotics, and video game programming, which is why we count on many talented boys in our camp.

We welcome all students, regardless of their abilities. We recognize that chess is not only a game but also a powerful tool for cognitive and emotional development. Therefore, we strive to provide an inclusive environment where every student can thrive and develop their unique skills. Chess, in particular, offers significant benefits for those with attention deficit, enhancing their concentration and planning skills. We are committed to providing all our students with the individualized attention they need to reach their full potential, because we believe in their ability to succeed and flourish in our camp.

We certainly want to create a pleasant environment where personal relationships are more important than intellectual achievements. This is a summer camp, not school!
